South of Nashville, Tennessee is the city of Franklin. It was a major battleground during the American Civil War. The city is home to many historic sites, including the Carter House and Carnton Plantation, which includes the McGavock Confederate Cemetery. Franklin’s historic downtown is an incredible place to explore. A visit to the Dortch Stove Works factory will give you a feel for how the town developed over the years.
